Black Dice

Their time may have come and gone, but this album (Beaches and Canyons) continues to stay with me. It had been hyped endlessly because of their association with DFA and I admit I was sucked in by the wall of hype at that time. This was not what I was expecting though. In contrast to the banging sound that the Rapture and LCD Soundsystem produced this seemed almost pastoral. Warped and noisy but yet kind of pastoral neverthe less. My favorite track is the flute centered Endless Happiness. Love those noisey hippies.
